My name is Diana Schrok. I am the author and editor of Travel Blog Stories Di (Historias da Di). I was born in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and leave the house every day is already a trip.

My first trip abroad was in 2012 to New York. Since then I’ve been in more than 20 cities and lived for 6 months in Munich, Germany.

When were you first bit by the travel bug?

The travel bug took me when I met the Iguazu Falls. A grandiose and amazing place that infected me.

What’s your travel style? Why do you prefer this style of travel?

My travel style is the search for the best value. I seek an experience of comfort and style, with minimal expense.

How do you fund your travels?

I do partnerships with hotels, travel agencies, tourism agencies. I also pay with my salary from engineer work.

What first inspired you to start Historias da Di?

historiasdadi-2

To organize my trip to New York I studied a lot on travel blogs and realized how useful it is, I also decided to contribute in some way.

What’s been your most popular blog post? Why do you think this blog post resonated with your audience?

My most popular post is about how to book a trip to Brazil. Because it is a very useful tip, I myself made the post because I had doubt in travel.

What’s been your favorite destination city and why?

This question is very difficult to answer, with so many amazing places in the world.

But having to choose a city, I choose Interlaken in Switzerland, because of the magical scenery that seems like a dream and all the energy of the place.

What picture have you taken during your travels that you’d consider to be your favorite and why?

I have many pictures that I love, but the most beautiful was the sunset of Santorini.

Have you eaten anything during your travels that absolutely blew your mind? What was it and where?

Yes. When I lived in Munich, Germany, one Apfelstrudel with wonderful cream on a trip through Bavaria.

Tell us about one of your greatest experiences during your travels.

Knowing Tulum on the Riviera Maya, which is a magical place. With the walls of the Mayas and a sea incredibly blue as a backdrop. Simply incredible!

Tell us about one of your worst experiences during your travels.

My worst travel experience was in Cinque Terre, Italy. We lost a lot using the GPS, at one point we ended up in a ravine. The GPS put us in a lot of trouble.

What has surprised you the most about traveling?

What surprises me most about traveling is getting to know the culture and the local way of life; the types of food, traditions, regional architecture and history of the people.

What’s one thing you seek out in every city you visit no matter what?

historiasdadi-4

I always look for parks and gardens. I love nature and the good feeling of being close to the plants, flowers and animals. So always look for this contact!

Do you have a favorite travel hack or best piece of travel advice?

My advice is: do not be afraid, face the adventure.

If you want to meet somewhere and find it hard to plan the script, for fear of making mistakes. There is no error in travel, everything always becomes a great adventure!

Any future travel plans?

historiasdadi-5

Yes, but it’s a secret for now, hehehe I can only say that it is in the Caribbean.

Favorite travel quote?

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”

― Henry Miller

What has travel taught you?

historiasdadi-3

Travelling has taught me that we are very small in our little worlds, and our routines and quirks, with material things which we can live without.

There is something bigger out there, many cultures, and many breathtaking views. You realize and notice how small you are and your ego is gone.
